Ministry of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India finances the Community Wing of the polytechnic college. This wing is working since 1991. This scheme is unique in nature since it is providing free of cost training to rural youth, women, school dropouts, SC/ST & other weaker sections. This helps them to obtain wage employment in the industry or to start their own venture. This wing undertakes the following activities in the rural areas of this District :
Every year it trains approx. 600 students in its main centre, which is working in the same campus, & various extensions spread all over the district.
